Things to Do When You Arrive at Your New La Cañada Flintridge Home

-Have the locks changed: you never know how many keys the previous owner shared
-Change the garage door opener codes & alarm codes
-Complete a change of address form: stop by your local post office or go online if you haven't done so already
-Make sure all of your utilities are connected: including Internet, cable, & trash services if you haven't done so already
-Don't forget about your pets: set out the pet food, water, litter box and/or puppy pads
-Safety first: purchase a first aid kit & fire extinguisher
-Install window treatments: you don't want nosey neighbors looking into your home
-Clean and disinfect: buy some basic cleaning supplies and clean in between the nooks and crannies of your home while it's empty
-Get a set of basic tools:  hammer, screwdrivers, pliers, tape measure, ladder, and putty scraper
-Check the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
-Buy Arm and Hammer baking soda for the refrigerator
-Change toilet seats 
-Update your driver's license, car registration, and voter registration
-Take before and after pictures: it will be nice to see before and after pictures once you are all moved in
-Meet the neighbors: the sooner you get to know them, the quicker your new place  will start to feel like home
