2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics

When I was younger I really enjoyed going to the Pasadena Ice Skating Center to practice moves that I watched during figure skating competitions. I had 2 birthday parties there and rented the rink for my friends and I to ice skate. During the 1994 Winter Olympics I liked watching Nancy Kerrigan, from team USA, fight for the gold medal against Oksana Baiul from the Ukraine. In the end, Oksana Baiul went home with the gold medal and Nancy Kerrigan won the silver medal. I was disappointed but a lot of people did think Kerrigan should have won. I never had a coach but I think if I did not play soccer I would have liked to pursue figure skating. I still enjoy watching figure skating competitions on TV and I'm excited to see Mirai Nagasu from Arcadia, CA and Rachel Flatt from Colorado Springs, CO compete this year in Vancouver Winter Olympics. Support team USA by watching the Winter Olympics this year on your flat screen TV.

2010 New Year's Resolutions

Lisa’s 2010 New Year’s Resolutions

1. I will be in the best shape of my life
2. I will eat healthy
3. I will save money
4. I will pay off my student loans
5. I will open an IRA
6. I will be more green
7. I will learn to cook

Every year after the 1st of the New Year the gym seems to be filled with people trying to start their New Year’s resolutions to lose those pounds. Unfortunately, for me and those who are dedicated to the gym we lose parking spaces; we have to arrive an hour earlier to attend fitness classes, and we have to wait thirty minutes to use a fitness machine. The good thing is as time goes by, each week less and less people start going to the gym and they give up on their resolutions. If you are one of those people, don’t give up this year and GO TO THE GYM! You will feel so much better and will be a lot happier. It takes 21 days to start a habit, after that you will be hooked.

Lululemon has this great website where you can create a username and password and set up your goals for this year. This year I will keep a food journal of everything I eat and keep track of my workouts. This website is a great way to monitor your progress of achieving your goals. This year instead of creating a wish list, create an I WILL list.

If you are having trouble thinking of what you WILL DO this year here are some ideas.
I will join a gym
I will lose weight
I will quit smoking
I will quit drinking
I will go back to school
I will get organized
I will complete a 30-day yoga challenge
I will learn to ski
I will volunteer more
I will make every day count
I will keep a detailed calendar in 2010
I will remember to give compliments
I will give up bottled water
I will put more time and energy into building my business
I will worry less about the expectations of others
I will put together a family cookbook
I will smile more
I will tell people in my life how much I appreciate them more often
I will stop using my credit card
I will eat healthier
I will think positively
I will see the good in people always (even though it’s not always easy)
I will be less judgmental
I will be a better friend
